The Southwest Conservation District is offering an internship position for spring/summer 2005.
The work will be under a grant entitled " Tools for Non Point Source Education in Key Long Island Sound Sub-Watersheds" that the Conservation District recently received from the State of Connecticut Department of Environmental Protection Long Island Sound License Plate Program ( OLISP).
The intern will review and help revise existing educational materials, assist with working with Distributors [watershed groups, schools, libraries etc.], assist with developing mailing lists and other outreach methods, assist with design of material and the web site, assist with data entry into the data base, assist with creating audio and visual educational aids, and assist with producing the final report. Focus will be on determining applicability of existing materials and working with various groups to prioritize distribution/presentation avenues.
A negotiable stipend is available. Work will be completed in our office at the USDA Service Center in Wallingford, Ct. with some fieldwork and meetings possible in the Fairfield and New Haven County area.
The time period, schedule and number of hours per internship for this work are flexible, beginning this spring and ending in September 2005. Total hours available are approximately 200. Preference would be for approximately 10 hours of work per week.
