Description

HELP US EXPAND OUR RESEARCH IN USA AND JAPAN

Ethical Investment Research Services (EIRIS) provides non-financial information and research to investors with social, environmental and ethical concerns. In the last few years we have expanded the coverage available in our Ethical Portfolio Manager (EPM) software product to more than 2,800 companies across the world. Our client base has also become increasingly global.

We are now establishing a new research team to further develop our research in Japan and USA. A senior researcher will be based in our new office in Boston, Mass., supported by additional researchers in London. EIRIS will also be opening a representative office in Tokyo while at the same time appointing a number of Japanese speaking researchers in London

Senior Research Analyst (USA): Starting salary $42,310

Are you the person we're looking for to act as the 'face of EIRIS' in the US for companies and the SRI world? Can you combine strong research skills with an ability to network and communicate with US companies and stakeholders, while maintaining a close working relationship with the London-based team?

Working from EIRIS' new office in Boston, Mass., you will be responsible for research and analysis of companies in allocated sectors in the United States, and also for the accuracy, quality, and up-to-dateness of EIRIS' research on US companies in general. You will act as the main contact point for US companies' queries and represent EIRIS at appropriate Corporate Social Responsibility) conferences and at meetings with NGOs etc on behalf of the US & Japan research team.

You will have excellent communication and presentation skills, and be adept at co-ordinating with others and delivering projects on time. An understanding of current ethical issues in the fields of corporate, social and environmental responsibility, and an idea of how companies can address these issues in their corporate strategies, is essential. Empathy with US culture and business is fundamental, and a good knowledge of and contacts with the SRI (Socially Responsible Investment) world in the US will be an advantage.

You should have a good degree or equivalent, and at least two years' experience of research or similar work on CSR issues. This should include researching CSR impacts or performance of either companies, industries, local authorities or other organisations.

If you are personally committed to the promotion and development of Socially Responsible Investment, thrive on working on your own but are good at keeping in touch with the rest of the team, we want to hear from you.

EIRIS offers excellent terms and conditions, including an annual company bonus, flexible working hours, 25 days rising to 30 days' holiday per year, and a contribution of 11.5% of gross salary to your personal pension scheme, providing you contribute 3.5%. Assistance with removal costs will be available for successful applicants relocating across national boundaries.
