Resources Law Group, LLP seeks a Program Officer to join a unique natural resource practice in Sacramento.
Resources Law Group is an innovative law and consulting firm that helps identify and achieve strategic natural resources conservation goals for philanthropic foundations and individuals, public agencies, private landowners, and non-profit organizations. The firm contains multi-disciplinary teams with extensive backgrounds in federal, state, and local government, as well as in conservation finance and the non-profit sector. The firm engages principally in matters pertaining to the conservation of land and water resources, creating lasting conservation outcomes in land-use planning and natural resources law and policy.
Responsibilities
The Program Officer is responsible for providing coordination, research, and strategy development and for ensuring appropriate organizational structures and systems to administer several planning efforts.
Qualifications
Candidates must have a strong academic record and 5 or more years experience in one or more of the following fields: public finance, California legislative or budget issues, conservation, environmental justice, urban parks, environmental or wilderness education, impoverished communities services or advocacy, or environmental health. Experience in strategic planning, policy development, grant administration, and management is desirable. Creativity, exceptional analytic and problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently and coordinate that work with a team of staff and consultants are important. Excellent analysis and writing skills are essential.
