Site Manager - Turks & Caicos Islands, British West Indies
The School for Field Studies (SFS) currently has an opening for an enthusiastic, team-oriented individual to join our team as Site Manager at our Center for Marine Resource Studies in the Turks & Caicos Islands starting in January 2005.
We are seeking an experienced Site Manager with hands-on facility maintenance experience, strong organizational skills and bookkeeping experience. The ideal candidate would ensure the smooth management of our facilities (including buildings, grounds & vehicles), handle regular maintenance and repairs, as well as administrative duties such as bookkeeping and purchasing. If you love variety in your work, are a great problem-solver and have a proactive approach to managing center facilities, we want to meet you!
Minimum qualifications include a BA/BS (or equivalent combination of relevant work experience), experience with construction and general maintenance including grounds keeping, ability to maintain/repair vehicle (and preferably boat) engines, experience in bookkeeping, project/operations budgets, supply ordering and inventory tracking, computer skills including Microsoft Office, Windows (and preferably QuickBooks/Quicken software), ability to operate manual transmission vehicles, and preferably experience living or working in the region.
SFS operates five international sites where we have been providing semester & month-long residential programs in environmental education for the last 25 years. SFS engages undergraduate college students in environmental studies and research through university-credit coursework which is accredited by Boston University, USA.
