Description

The New Hampshire Lakes Association (NHLA), a non-profit lake advocacy and educational organization in Concord, announces an anticipated opening for an Environmental Policy Director.

Responsibilities include: conducting research on lake-related issues; writing legislation; working with lawmakers, state agency personnel, conservation organizations and others to advance a mutual agenda; building grassroots support through NHLA's cadre of 500+ legislative volunteers; direct lobbying for NHLA's legislation; and monitoring lake-related bills proposed by others.

The successful candidate will have an undergraduate degree in environmental science, public policy or related field plus two years' experience or a Master's degree in environmental science, public policy or related field. He/she must be familiar with conducting research on the Internet; possess computer word processing, database and spreadsheet skills; effective interpersonal skills; excellent writing skills; able to multi-task and function as a team member in a small office environment.
