Description
CAMFED International is a registered charity based in Cambridge dedicated to extending girls'' access to education in Africa.
We are seeking a Finance Manager for a 7-month contract to cover maternity leave (with possible extension of a further 6 months). Working closely with a small team in the UK as well as with staff in Zimbabwe, Ghana and Zambia.
You will be responsible for:
- The production of annual statutory accounts and quarterly management accounts.
- The preparation of budgets, and financial reports.
- Provision of financial training to staff in the UK and Africa.
- Assisting in strategic and financial planning.
- Ensuring the fulfilment of statutory requirements, e.g. annual reports to the Charity Commission.
- Some travel to Africa will be required.
Skills and experience:
- A minimum of 3 years relevant accounting experience.
- A minimum of 1 year''s experience of working in the international development sector.
- A good all round knowledge of accounting systems, experience of SUN accounts is an advantage.
- Strong team player with good interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Salary: 24,000-27,000 per annum (based on experience)
