Description
NW Energy Coalition seeks to fill a full-time position in the Seattle office in Pioneer Square coordinating coalition outreach and membership projects. The Coalition was founded in 1981 and has over 100 member organizations throughout the Pacific Northwest region. Outreach in the Coalition involves direct communication and work with these diverse organizations.

Team Leader: Outreach Director
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintain communication with member organizations on Coalition activities and work.
- Coordinate Coalition members - involvement in local, state, and regional public energy forums, including turnout and assisting with testimony preparation.
- Organize semiannual board meeting/conferences.
- Assist with individual and organizational membership dues billings and maintaining the membership database.
- Serve as staff liaison to selected state or provincial caucuses. Work with policy and communications staff to ensure coordinated and consistent messages.
- Assist Outreach Director in developing a major donor program.
- Organize, attend and make presentations at meetings, seminars, conferences and hearings associated with Coalition outreach activities.
- Write articles for the quarterly newsletter.
- Assist with the development, writing, and production of fact sheets and other materials.
- Share administrative responsibilities of a cooperative, informal and diverse work environment.
- Other duties as assigned by the Outreach Director.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in a related discipline and a minimum two year's relevant experience, e.g., organizing in public interest advocacy organization or member relations in similar coalition or trade association. Experience substitutes for education. Position requires good organizational skills, attention to detail, excellent writing and oral communication skills. Pluses: Web and/or desktop publishing experience; major donor experience.
Occasional travel throughout the Pacific Northwest region, including two weekends per year, is required. Previous experience working in a coalition is desirable.
Compensation
$26,000 - $32,000, depending on experience. An Equal Opportunity Employer. Excellent benefits include dental and medical and four weeks paid vacation.
