Contract Opening Campaign Manager A Campaign to Protect Oregon's Ocean
Oregon Ocean is an exciting new campaign formed by seven conservation organizations with a mission of conserving Oregon's ocean. A pivotal goal of this campaign is to establish a system of marine protected areas, including substantial fully protected areas that protect biodiversity and ecosystem integrity in Oregon. This campaign is linked directly to the Ocean Wilderness Network (OWN), which is a region-wide coalition of conservation organizations with a similar goal (www.oceanwildernessnetwork.org).
Oregon Ocean is looking for a highly qualified Campaign Manager to help make protecting Oregon's oceans a front running issue. Please see below for the list of qualifications. The ideal candidate will possess most of the desired qualifications.
Contract Amount: Negotiable Depends on Experience.

Job Qualifications:
1. Fundraising
-A substantial understanding of the many facets of development. Ideally, the best candidate will have a significant experience in successfully raising funds from a variety of sources, particularly foundations, major donors, and corporations.
2. Oregon Connections
-Political savvy based on knowledge of the Oregon political landscape that will allow the campaign to make positive strategic decisions. -Knowledge of the Oregon political landscape, or significant equivalent experience from elsewhere.
-Pivotal Oregon connections that will help increase the strength of the Oregon Ocean campaign.
-A willingness and ability to network with high-ranking people in the Oregon community to further the Oregon Ocean campaign.
-Knowledge about ocean issues that impact Oregon.
3. Consensus Building
-A desire to work directly with the representatives of Oregon Ocean member organizations to develop policy and strategy for the campaign.
-A consensus builder who is willing to hear many opinions prior to coming to a final decision about an issue.
-An ability to motivate individuals and organizations to contribute to Oregon Ocean.
4. Administrative
-Organized and efficient in producing projects on time.
-Computer ability in Word, Email, Excel, and databases.
-Excellent writing and editing skills.
-A willingness to perform routine office tasks (in addition to high-level fundraising and networking projects.)
5. General Qualifications
-A self-starter who is able to work on a variety of tasks at the same time.
-A strategic thinker.
-A commitment to the goals of Oregon Ocean. -Ability to speak clearly and concisely.
-Willingness to speak publicly in front of a large number of people-including individuals who may not agree with the point of view of Oregon Ocean.
