Announcement of the GLOBE Internship Program:

GLOBE USA is the United States affiliate of Global Legislators Organization for a Balanced Environment (GLOBE), a global coalition of national legislators committed to working together to address issues of global environmental importance. Our voluntary, bipartisan membership consists of senators and representatives from the US Congress.

GLOBE USA's mission is to seek solutions to the world's most pressing environmental problems by lending a congressional voice to the contemporary environmental debate, highlighting emerging environmental issues, urging effective action by congressional and private sector leaders, and suggesting alternative approaches when none are readily apparent.

We seek energetic, responsible interns to work as part of a close-knit team environment. In addition to a modest stipend, GLOBE USA will participate in ensuring course credit for the internship.

Intern duties may include:

• researching, writing and supervising the layout, production and distribution of GLOBE's monthly newsletter;
• updating the GLOBE USA and GLOBE International websites;
• fulfilling membership needs and requests;
• actively participating in the planning for GLOBE events and projects;
• assisting GLOBE program staff with short-term research projects and report writing assignments.

Candidates should have a strong commitment to the environment and an interest in understanding national and international legislative processes.

As our interns generally have full responsibility for the GLOBE newsletter, we look for organized candidates with strong writing and editing skills.

-Working knowledge of html is preferred.
-Database experience is a plus.
-A successful candidate will be culturally sensitive, self-motivated and creative.
