Summary:The World Resources Institute?s (WRI) ?Sustainable Budgets? project seeks an individual with an economics background to help research and analyze the environmental and other implications of various tax reform proposals.The Sustainable Budgets project will be conducting original analyses exploring the environmental impacts of key provisions of the U.S. tax code, identifying potential reforms that would be both fiscally prudent and environmentally sound.These analyses will be communicated to policymakers, interest groups, and opinion leaders.

Major responsibilities:

Identify and synthesize existing research on tax reforms

Conduct analyses of economic and environmental impacts of various tax reform options

Research key committees, policymakers, and staff on Capitol Hill

Assist with other project tasks as needed.

Qualifications:

At least a Bachelors degree in Economics or Government.Knowledge of tax policy or environmental economics a plus

Experience conducting research and analysis with a minimal degree of supervision

Experience with economic modeling a plus

Experience working on the Hill or with a policy group a plus.

Compensation:Competitive intern wage.No benefits with this position.

Internship period:Position available immediately.Six-month minimum commitment required.Position is full time (37.5 hours/week).Part-time position will be considered for the right candidate.
