Description
Duties:
The Resource Planner focuses on issues related to the rural community (e.g.
agriculture, open space, resource management); department's liaison with the
rural community in eastern Alameda County; carries out major projects in
planning; instructs and gives work direction to lower level planners. Duties
include development planning; long-term planning; processing permit applications;
troubleshooting and disseminating information to the rural community;
participating in planning related to creeks, watersheds, wetlands, parks,
endangered species; developing policy related to resource conversation, open
space preservation, and agricultural sustainability; interacting with various local,
state and federal agencies; staffing of the County's Agricultural Advisory
Committee; and outreach to community organizations and special interest groups.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, with a major in
planning or a related field such as architecture, landscape architecture,
geography, urban/environmental studies, economics, sociology, public
management/administration, AND the equivalent of three years' full-time
professional experience in city, county or regional planning. A one- or two-year
Master's degree may be substituted for some experience.
Compensation: $2319.75 - $2793.00 Bi-Weekly
