Description
Background:
Pacific Environment, a growing international environmental non-profit,
is seeking an Executive Assistant who will be responsible for a wide
range of activities in support of the Executive Directors leadership. The
Executive Assistant will provide support in the areas of administration,
development, board relations, staff relations, and programs.
PACIFIC ENVIRONMENT WILL ONLY CONSIDER THOSE CANIDATES WHO
HAVE AT LEAST FIVE YEARS OF EXPERIENCE AS AN EXECUTIVE
ASSISTANT and whose experience includes the exercise of initiative and
good judgment, along with the maintenance of utmost integrity.
Candidates must have exceptional writing and organizational skills,
and must be attentive to accuracy and detail, with superb
follow-through. Candidates must have outstanding interpersonal
communication skills.
Duties:
- Provide administrative support to the Executive Director, including
drafting of correspondence, photocopying, answering phones and
e-mails, and faxing. - Maintain the Executive Directors calendar, including the coordination of
internal and external meetings. - Oversee the preparation of board and staff packets for quarterly
organizational meetings, including excel spreadsheets, graphs and
charts. - Assist the Executive Director in development activities, by ensuring that
the grant chart maintained by the Administrative Assistant is
up-to-date and contains all pertinent information, research potential
donor contacts, arrange meetings, and draft letters. - Assist the Executive Director in external PR and Program-related
functions, including logistical support. - Assist the Executive Director in a wide variety of general activities, on
an as-needed basis.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree and 5 years experience in support of senior level
management. - Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and
PowerPoint. - Desire to learn new computer programs and applications, including
development databases. - Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and exercise discretion and sound
judgment. - Strong writing and organizational skills, including editing, with attention
to detail and devotion to accuracy. - Excellent interpersonal skills
