Description

Duties:

This is managerial work directing all of the activities of Division of Land
Management.

Primary duties:

  • supervises subordinate staff;
  • develops and
    administers the division's annual operating budget;
  • directs the implementation of the
    St. Johns River Water Management District land management program including
    security, resource protection, lease administration, interagency management
    agreements, and coordination of work for land maintenance activities;
  • directs the
    SJRWMD land management planning program;
  • directs the SJRWMD land
    assessment program;
  • prepares and makes presentations at public Governing Board
    meetings;
  • and coordinates land management activities with other Water
    Management Districts and public land management agencies.

Qualifications:

Qualifications include:

  • a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
    in biology, forestry, environmental or natural resource management and five years
    experience in a related field, two of which must have been in a supervisory
    capacity.
  • A Master's degree from an accredited college or university in biology,
    forestry, environmental or natural resource management can substitute for one
    year of the required non-supervisory experience as described above.
  • A Doctorate
    from an accredited college or university in biology, forestry, environmental or
    natural resource management can substitute for two years of the required
    non-supervisory experience as described above. Professional experience in natural
    resource management can substitute on a year-for-year basis for the required
    college education.

Compensation: Pay Grade SM I, Minimum $65,000.00, with excellent benefits.
