Background:
We are a Human Resources management consulting firm located in southern California whose client, a southern California based nonprofit organization, seeks an experienced fundraising and outreach professional to join its team. Our client is a national childrens charity serving children with special needs.
Duties:
Working out of our clients new Venice/Santa Monica area office, the Fundraising/Outreach Specialist, will be responsible for fundraising and building strong relationships with our clients donors, supporters, and the general philanthropic community while providing dedicated and comprehensive outreach to allied organizations, support groups. This position reports directly to the President.
Qualficiations:
The successful candidate will have a minimum of three (3) years of professional experience in fundraising and or exceeding sales goals and targets with minimum annual goals of $300,000, while functioning as a marketing, or business development, or sales professional.
He/she must possess superior communication, organizational and time management skills with a strong understanding of basic sales and marketing best practices and effective territory building techniques.
A high level of Internet and computer literacy, preferably within a Microsoft Windows environment is required along with the ability to effectively function under the pressure of deadlines and goals.
He/She should also be comfortable working in a dynamic, fast paced environment where flexibility regarding changing priorities will be valued.
We seek a creative self-started who has a strong work ethic and strong networking skills that allows them to effectively network with various constituencies.
A four-year college degree in Marketing, Communications, Business Administration, or related field is required. Post-graduate college course work completed or degree bestowed is desired but not mandatory.
Requires experience working in a nonprofit or public organization with a working knowledge of foundation grant making and corporate giving operations, practices, and procedures being highly desirable. The ideal candidate will have established relationships with individuals, foundations, corporations, and state agencies that fund programs that support health & childrens issues.
