Description
Background:
Another Incredible Opportunity For A Project Manager To Join Australias Pre-Eminent Renewable
Energy Company!
With a number of wind energy projects about to commence construction and over 2,000MW of
potential sites at various stages of development, Pacific Hydro is set to dramatically expand its wind
energy portfolio in the coming years.
Duties:
An opportunity therefore exists for an experienced project manager to be involved in all tasks relating
to the management of design, development and construction of wind power projects as well as having
an involvement in the financial and business development activities relating to these projects. The
individual will need to be financially literate and able to undertake project financial evaluations. You
will need to demonstrate financial modelling skills and a thorough understanding of the cost drivers of
capital projects of this nature.
It is intended that the person will work alongside and complement the existing wind power
development team so that PHL is able to take on and properly manage multiple projects at any one
point in time. It is very important for the person taking on this role to be acquainted with this industry
sector and to be abreast of new developments.
The person envisaged for this appointment will need to have the personality, professional capabilities
and potential to grow in a manner consistent with the anticipated growth prospects of the Company.
PHL is ideally looking to recruit someone who wants to commit to a long term career with the
company.
The post will be based in our Melbourne office but will require periods of travel away from home on a
regular basis.
Qualifications:
Formal qualifications in an engineering discipline (civil, electrical, environmental or mechanical) and
knowledge of the electricity industry are required. Ideally we anticipate that the person will have some
5 to 10 years (minimum) experience since graduation.
Because of the emphasis being placed on
technical and commercial management skills, we are hopeful that the candidate selected will be able
to bring a business degree and or post graduate technical degree to this appointment.
Extensive knowledge and understanding of general construction project management is desirable and
specific experience in the development of wind energy projects would be regarded favourably. Any
such experience in Australia will be viewed favourably.
