Process Engineer

First Solar, developer & manufacturer of breakthrough thin-film photovoltaic (PV) technology in solar modules, seeks a qualified Process Engineer to develop & support the manufacturing of PV modules in the greater Toledo Ohio area.

Position description:
Develop, continuously improve, and document robust solar module manufacturing processes to achieve the highest product performance at lowest possible manufacturing costs. Process engineering is primarily responsible for metrics of module reliability, conversion efficiency and mfg yield. Additionally, Engineering works with Manufacturing to reduce material & labor content in our product and ensures production schedules are met. Provide extensive support to scaleup process & equipment for aggressive factory expansion.

Candidate requirements:
Minimum 4 year college degree in technical discipline. Minimum 3 years engineering experience working at a thin-film PV module facility. Hands on process experience with module framing and durability testing. Strong background in continuous improvement/quality tools, especially Robust Engineering/Design of Experiments, SPC, 6 Sigma & FMEA. Excellent data handling skills- ability to pull & manipulate data in a relational database & perform proper & extensive statistical analysis. High energy & aggressive personality who can operate effectively in a strong team-oriented environment. NOTE: "PHOTOVOLTAIC" & "FRAMING" experience is a must!
