Description
Appalachian Sustainable Development, a regional non-profit community development organization based in lovely southwest Virginia, has an immediate opening for manager of its Sustainable Forestry & Wood Products Program.
The program seeks to improve forestry practices on private lands, add value to forest resources, and integrate these two goals through the development of markets for "green" wood products.
The manager will oversee landowner recruitment & education, forest management and sale administration, wood processing operations, business management, and product sales and marketing.

Applicants must have Bachelor Degree in Forestry, Wood Products, or related field, and 6-10 years experience, or Masters Degree and 3-5 years experience. Experience in or knowledge of Central Appalachian culture and forest ecology is preferred.
