The Business Outreach Campaign Coordinator will work with the Marketing and Business divisions at Co-op America to create and execute strategies aimed at leveraging our relationships with our existing business members to grow Co-op America’s individual consumer and investor membership.

We have begun the development for our Green Businesses for a Greener Future Campaign. The campaign coordinator will carry out the campaign as designed, work with staff to improve on strategies, build and cultivate relationships with our business members and turn those relationships into revenue and member generating opportunities.

The crucial role that the person in this position plays at Co-op America is to increase the participation of both businesses and consumers in creating a more just and sustainable economy and bringing greater revenues, through this participation, to Co-op America for its programs.

A. New Marketing Programs/Development and New Channels

1) Research and determine feasibility of developing new ways to build memberships working with Co-op America Business Network (CABN) and Marketing teams.

2) Design and implement campaigns that use our Co-op America Business Network members to grow our membership

3) Design and implement campaigns that use allied relationships – alternative newsweeklies, magazines, e-commerce sites to build membership.

4) Oversee negotiations and implement new marketing programs.

B. Internet Marketing

1) Coordinate on-line testing strategies

2) Implement changes to marketing content in the web management system

3) Coordinate reports for online marketing strategies.

C. Implement Low-Dollar Membership Development (Real Money newseletter)

1) Work closely with the Real Money Team and publications/marketing staffs in planning and implementation of the Real Money low dollar membership program.

2) Oversee the backend fulfillment to new members.

3) Prepare reports on performance and success of the program and make recommendations for roll-out of program.

D. Implementation Responsibilities:

1) Ability to negotiate over the phone with potential partners.

2) Ability to set timelines and production schedules.

3) Assist with writing campaign materials – for web, email, fax and mail

4) Work with outside consultants/writers/designers as needed on package designs.

5) Ability to design and coordinate all back-end fulfillment processes.

6) Willingness to learn and use our in-house membership system as needed.

E. Campaign/Marketing Analysis

1) Coordinate with Database developer to get appropriate data files. Check files for data integrity/ accuracy.

2) Prepare cost and revenue analysis report for each program.

3) Prepare reports on campaign results; perform program analysis.

F. Marketing Team Responsibilities

1) Assist Program Development Manager with Marketing Team projects including direct mail, special appeal and renewals. Project assistance will include strategy, analysis, writing and database troubleshooting.

2) Assist Program Development Manger with the development of additional consumer and business programs, including a national conference.

3) Assist Marketing Director with attracting sponsorships and advertisers for Co-op America’s publications including the National Green Pages, Co-op America Quarterly and Real Money.

Participate in division and staff meetings as required.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

* Experience in project management

* Experience in sales and/ or fundraising

* Computer skills – Microsoft Word, Excel, Access

* Budgeting and Analysis

* Problem solving skills

* Flexibility and ability to manage multiple tasks.

* Ability to implement projects with minimal supervision.

* Ability to work to deadlines and remain focused and calm.
