Description
The CERES fellowship is a one-year appointment, beginning in June 2002, aimed at providing individuals at the outset of their careers the opportunity to learn the skills necessary for promoting change in the 21st century. The fellowship is designed to share CERES' expertise in building coalitions and promoting corporate environmental responsibility with a new generation of leaders. We seek to challenge young professionals to apply their education and experiences to CERES key program areas.
Fellows will work with individuals and organizations in the sustainability, socially responsible investing, and corporate worlds. Using skills in research, organization, and coordination, fellows are expected to make contributions that will further CERES' mission by working with a wide variety of constituents within the CERES network.
Qualifications
- Experience with or strong interest in environmental/sustainability issues.
- Outstanding organizational skills. Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks.
- Strong oral and written communication skills, including consistently professional telephone communications and good writing ability.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with a team.
- Willingness to work in a fast-paced environment, maintaining a positive attitude and staying calm under pressure. Ability to produce quality results on deadline.
- Basic computer proficiency, especially with word-processing and spreadsheet programs.
- Bachelor or Masters degree with strong academic background.
