Description
-Full time, seasonal positions starting June 17,2002 and ending August 23, 2002.
- Responsible for the safety of 16 camp participants (one of three levels: grades 4&5, grades 6&7, grades 8&9).
- Teach/aid participants to observe, discover, and appreciate the natural world and Aquarium galleries and exhibits.
- Lead/assist field trip studies and activities in the Aquarium, boat trips, hikes, and a weekly overnight camping experience.
- Develop/assist weekly programs (theme-based), science projects and activities for participants. Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in education, natural sciences or related fields.
- Minumum 1-4 years experience teaching/coordinating environmental science programs either outdoor or informal classroom settings.
- Strong background in marine biology, freshwater ecology and other related sciences.
- Knowledge of group activities, games, team building inititatives or other environmental education related programming.
- Experience creating/assisting curriculum development.
- Current certifications in First Aid, CPR and Lifeguarding.
- Must have valid driver's license and two years of driving experience.
