Summer Campaign Fellow

Founded in 2012 as Forecast the Facts, we have a history of running impactful campaigns in support of frontline voices that shift the national conversation and win concrete victories.

Our campaigns have pushed dozens of corporate brands to disaffiliate from disinformation groups like the Heartland Institute and the American Legislative Exchange Council. Earlier this year, our work was cited by presidential debate moderators as a premise for asking candidates on both sides of the aisle about climate change. 

Position Overview  

About the Campaign Fellowship 

The ClimateTruth.org Summer Campaign Fellowship is a 3-month fellowship that will give you the opportunity to get your feet wet in the world of online climate change organizing.

Who We Are Looking For The Summer Campaign Fellow will join a small, nimble team that is ambitious, detail-oriented, and unrelenting. We do a lot with a little and we are looking for a candidate cut from the same mold. The ideal candidates is excited to learn online campaigning skills; likes teamwork but can act independently; will enjoy the fast pace of campaigning; and is passionate about the issue of climate change. 

Responsibilities  

You Will: 

• Monitor political and social events for their potential to become campaigns
• Research campaign opportunities, propose new campaign ideas, contribute to campaign plans
• Draft select campaign materials: emails, web copy, etc.
• Stage email outreaches, landing pages, and do other necessary technology set up
• Interact with members (e.g., respond to member questions, handle requests for information)
• Provide support for on-the-ground events, e.g., petition deliveries, house parties 

Qualifications 

You Have: 

• Exceptional (not just good) writing ability in a relevant setting
• Strong research skills
• Knowledge about political and social issues related to climate change
• High comfort level with technology
• Very high attention to detail
• Demonstrated ability to succeed in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment

Compensation: This is a full-time, temporary position that pays $15/hour and benefits, including vacation and sick time accrual as well as basic health, dental, vision, disability and life insurance.
