Position Overview

The
Office of Physical Plant (OPP) is seeking a full time Campus Sustainability
Coordinator. The Coordinator will be responsible for establishing
and promoting sustainable practices across the campus in multiple areas: energy
management, solid waste reduction, dining services, capital projects and
ongoing operations and maintenance work with a high priority on assisting in
the development of a campus Climate Action Plan.  

Responsibilities  

  • The Sustainability Coordinator
    will establish programs and policies that support and further the priorities of
    the school's Environmental Policy Statement (information available on
    website). 
  • This individual will engage students and employees across
    campus in climate mitigation projects and will coordinate community education
    on campus initiatives.
  • The Coordinator will also be responsible for tracking
    and reporting on the Academy's progress toward achieving campus sustainability
    goals. 
  • Reporting to the Senior Project Manager for Campus Design,
    Grounds and Sustainability, the Coordinator will serve as the primary
    liaison between the campus community and the senior operations team.   

Qualifications 

  • 3-5 years work experience indicating leadership in the area of
    sustainability is desired.
  • Seeking individual with demonstrated ability to
    identify and formulate long-term direction and goals with the ability to
    translate these long-term goals into near-term projects and operational
    activities. 
  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Studies, Environmental
    Science, Sustainability, Engineering, Business or directly related fields
    required. 
  • Demonstrated commitment to working in a fully inclusive
    community and the ability to establish and maintain working relationships with
    a diverse student body, faculty, staff and community required. 
  • LEED
    Accredited Professional preferred.
