Position Overview
This is a cross functional position that will be involved in maintaining, verifying, and analyzing data used by Dean Foods for carbon, water, waste, Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and sustainability reporting.
The position will be heavily involved in implementation of new data management solutions and processes for our reporting efforts. In addition, the potential candidate will also be required to perform analysis and verification of both energy and carbon reduction projects.
Responsibilities
- Review data and invoices related to energy, water, solid waste management and recycling services for accuracy both as to price and volume;
- Ensure data charged to appropriate locations and volumes are correctly calculated;
- Develop and/or implement processes to integrate raw data into various reporting tools and functions such as carbon footprint reports, internal KPIs regarding production efficiency, etc.;
- Develop and/or implement reporting tools using spreadsheet and/or database applications;
- Support completion of life cycle analysis studies as necessary;
- Utilize energy modeling applications and spreadsheets to compare projected energy savings to actual;
- Utility billing verification and reconciliation duties nationally;
- Work with plant managers to locate and verify data; and
- Make recommendations to improve environmental performance.
Qualifications
Desired Skills and Experience
- Bachelor's Degree required;
- Three years' experience in analyst role;
- Advanced working knowledge of extracting and formulating data for import from and/or export to externally hosted databases;
- Demonstrated knowledge/experience regarding sustainability, greenhouse gas accounting and carbon reporting;
- Proven experience in high quality research, presentations, client reports and technical proposals;
- Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team;
- Continuous improvement mind set, to challenge current processes internally & externally;
- Must be very self-motivated and driven;
- Time management - complete project assignments on time and on budget; and a high level of communication skills and customer focus; and
- Advanced working knowledge of MS Excel, MS Access MS PowerPoint and MS Word required.
