The Alliance for Clean Energy (ACE NY), a nonprofit organization based in Albany, NY, is a member-based nonprofit organization with a mission of promoting clean, renewable electricity technologies and energy efficiency in New York State, in order to increase energy diversity and security, boost economic development, improve public health and reduce air pollution. ~

We are a member-based advocacy organization, and our members include a variety of renewable energy and energy efficiency businesses, as well as public interest environmental organizations. ACE NY is the New York State affiliate of the American Wind Energy Association and the Advanced Energy Economy Institute.

Position Overview 

ACE NY is seeking a Director of Member Services. Flexible hours are a possibility. 

Responsibilities  

  • This positon is in charge of developing weekly updates and other communications to
    the member companies of ACE NY; 
  • Reviewing and responding to energy policy
    proposals from State agencies; 
  • Planning events and advocacy activities; 
  • Managing vendor relationships; 
  • Maintaining the organization’s website;
  • Responding to the needs and inquiries of member companies; 
  • Serving as the
    liaison to the ACE NY Board of Directors; and 
  • Managing the day-to-day
    activities of the ACE NY office. 

Qualifications 

  • Applicants must have a Bachelor's degree, office experience, and an interest
    in clean energy policy;
  • Preference for candidates with 2-4 years
    work experience in a member-based association or not-for-profit organization;
  • Preference for candidate with an advanced degree in an energy, environmental, or
    public policy field;  
  • Candidates should be highly organized, self-directed, and someone who
    easily learns and adapts to new systems and evolving office needs;
  • Expericence with event planning is a plus, but not required; and
  • Experience with website management and member management software is a plus, but not required.
