Description

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and enforce safe work practices as they relate to wind plants and wind turbine repairs and maintenance.
  • Plan and issue work schedules to ensure the continual safe and efficient operations of the wind turbines.
  • Monitor and report on manufacture and third party wind turbine maintenance and repair efforts.
  • Conduct/supervise/assist in trouble shooting and repairs of wind turbine electrical, mechanical and hydraulic systems.
  • Inspect completed repairs and scheduled maintenance for quality assurance.
  • Responsible for specifying and ordering mobil equipment and cranes as needed for wind turbine repairs.
  • Primary responsibility for turbine availability.
  • Monitor wind conditions to maximize revenue and minimize downtime during repairs and maintenance.
  • Participate in contract negotiations with sub contractors and other vendors for parts and services required for wind turbines.
  • Responsible for manuals, updates, and work instructions and technical wind turbine data.
  • Work with other team members to establish goals, action plans and strategies.
  • Develop standard work procedures.
  • Assist as required in facility maintenance and repairs.

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications and Requirements:

  • 2 + years GE 1.5 wind turbine repair and maintenance.
  • In depth knowledge wind turbine systems to include electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and SCADA.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain wind turbines at a high availability factor.
  • Proficiency in using MS Office software to include spread sheet and document applications.
  • Reside in immediate vicinity of wind farm installation to reduce call-out response time.

Education: 4 year degree in related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.

FLSA: This is an exempt position.
