This position is ideal for an experienced design engineer that is interested in broadening their career as the position of consulting engineer encompasses a wide range of job functions.
Primary job responsibilities include design review, due diligence, and other independent engineering functions; writing component specifications; design support for prototype and existing commercial wind turbines; component failure analysis; and research activities in wind turbine technology.
We are seeking an individual who has experience with design and analysis of rotating mechanical power transmission equipment, experience with design and analysis of large mechanical/structural equipment, stress and fatigue analysis, and failure analysis. In addition, we require good to excellent verbal and written communications skills.
The following skills and experience are desirable:
- any relevant technical experience with wind energy, experience with due-diligence, composite structural design and/or manufacturing, electrical/controls experience, and statistics.
- A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in mechanical, structural, or related engineering field plus 10 years experience or graduate degree and comparable experience are required.
