We are seeking an entry-level Data Analyst to join our Renewable Energy division. Our Data Analysts contribute to the development of innovative, analytical, high quality products and services, typically working on multiple projects with all levels of staff.

This position will work under the direction of the Field Services Manager, having the responsibility for the completion of high-quality renewable energy analysis and field support of data campaigns for meteorological towers and solar monitoring stations. This is a full-time position located in the Albany, New York office, with the option to travel to onsite wind and solar farms for additional analytical and maintenance work.

Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot and repair instrumentation and data acquisition systems for meteorological towers and solar monitoring stations.
  • Perform weekly data checks of wind and solar systems.
  • Provide remote support for subcontractors.
  • Perform onsite field audits of meteorological towers and solar monitoring equipment.
  • Participate in the installation and commissioning of wind and solar measurement equipment.
  • Provide equipment specifications and purchasing support for wind and solar programs.
  • Provide well-written, detailed documentation and reports.
  • Participate in informal and formal departmental training activities.
  • Ability to gather and organize documentation.
  • Strong computer skills, particularly in the applications of Excel and Word.
  • Attention to detail, ability to multi-task, ability to think on your feet, and the ability to prioritize effectively.
  • Experience with electronic measurement and navigational (GPS) equipment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Capable of completing a work schedule that may include time before and beyond regular hours.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and a matrix organization with one or more team leads.
  • Ability to travel frequently and upon short notice; maintain an up to date passport.
  • Knowledge of meteorological data.
  • Perform all other duties as they may be assigned.

What makes you a great fit:

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of a B.S. in Atmospheric Science, Renewable Energy Technologies, or Engineering.
  • 1-2 years of experience (Meteorological Data Analysis)
  • Meteorological Instrumentation experience is useful.
  • Ability to work in an office environment 6-8 hours per day.
  • Ability to lift items weighing approximately 40+ pounds on occasion.
  • Communication skills sufficient to conduct regular business activities as defined in the position responsibilities.
  • Ability to comprehend and apply procedures, policies, and safety information.
  • Ability to comprehend and apply wiring diagrams and assembly instructions.
  • Ability to work in adverse weather conditions on occasion.
  • Ability to work alone on occasion.
  • Strength and stamina to work over rough terrain for a moderate distance (1/2 mile).
  • Ability to work from a ladder or at heights on occasion may be required, not essential as most installations are done at ground level.
