Description

Duties:

  • Perform and/or manage environmental studies and field assessments required to permit and
    manage company facilities and lands, achieve regulatory compliance, enhance operating efficiency, and reduce
    operations and maintenance costs.
  • Conduct biological studies, analyze data, and report results
  • Provide project
    support to biological task managers.
  • Work independently or with teams of other technical experts, company clients,
    or contractors to perform field and office work.
  • Conduct biological surveys to satisfy requirements of state and
    federal environmental permit and license applications and agency regulatory process; perform surveys for state and
    federally listed wildlife and plants.
  • Provide field monitoring and oversight for implementing plans and compliance
    monitoring.
  • Prepare biological information for license applications and project permits, responses to agency
    comments, and biological testimony; review and comment on technical and business-related documents and issues
    for PG&E.
  • Participate in developing and negotiating biological agreements with local, state and federal agencies.
  • Prepare and deliver written and verbal expert witness testimony at adjudicated hearings and other formal
    proceedings.
  • Select, direct, and control environmental consultants and technical project teams.
  • Develop technical
    components of the Requests For Proposal documentation and conduct proposal evaluation.
  • Provide technical quality
    assurance for contract work and contract administrative control.

Qualifications:

  • skills in wildlife or biological field sampling and survey methods
  • knowledge of California
    wildlife/plant taxonomy, California biological communities, state and federal environmental laws
  • ability to perform
    rigorous field survey work in remote locations in mountainous terrain
  • three + years experience in conducting
    wildlife/ecological investigations
  • prefer MS/MA degree in Natural Resources, Wildlife, Ecology, or related sciences
