Whale Shark Research Program

~ Volunteer Latin America's mission is to help protect Latin America's flora and fauna, its biodiversity, and to offer the most cost effective way to become an environmental or humanitarian volunteer in Central or South America. ~

Position Overview 

• This project is looking for volunteers who are passionate about conservation and who want to get involved in the field monitoring of whale sharks.
• This is a great opportunity to gain work experience and valuable skills for a career in marine conservation.
• No specific skills required but must be confident in the water. 

Fees: US$30 per day which is a discounted rate specifically for VLA members (40% discount per day on our usual cost). The fee includes pick-up on arrival, accommodation, a comprehensive series of lectures covering all aspects of whale shark conservation, and training in field based scientific monitoring.
