Job Term:
Fall 2005 (3-4 months) Stipend: $600/month (3 mos.) or $700/month (4 mos.) Hours: 9:00-5:30 Location: 1/2 block from Rosslyn Metro Openings: One Start: Late August/Early September
Organization Description:
Small, but dynamic environmental non-profit organization researching and advocating policies to reduce waste and create sustainable communities through recycling, reuse and waste prevention. CRI supports state and nationwide groups formulating policy that holds corporations responsible for their wasteful packaging and also serves as a clearinghouse for information on container deposit systems.
Internship Qualifications:
Strong communication and writing skills, good analytical skills, website development/content management skills (knowledge of or ability to learn Dreamweaver), knowledge of Microsoft Office (with particular proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint), and commitment to environmental sustainability are a must. Database management skills are a plus. Interest in packaging issues and/or recycling a definite plus.
Internship Description:
Assist with writing and preparation of newsletter and other publications; assist in preparing communications to the media; develop website content and presentation materials; network with grassroots activists; help with some general administrative tasks. As an integral part of a small team, you will be able to see the direct impact of your work.
