Georgia Environmental Facilities Authority (GEFA) is a state agency that administers a wide variety of programs that provide financial assistance and other support services to improve Georgia's environment. GEFA's program focus areas are water, wastewater, solid waste, recycling, land conservation, energy efficiency and fuel storage tanks for local governments, other state agencies and non-profit organizations.
Position Overview:
GEFA is seeking an enthusiastic individual who enjoys a fast-paced environment to join us as a Weatherization Program Monitor.
Responsibilities:
In this role, you will perform compliance monitoring and support training and outreach efforts for weatherization programs with local agencies as assigned for Georgia Environmental Facilities Authority. You will also review, evaluate, and provide oversight to the local service providers by determining effective achievement of program goals.
This individual ensures compliance with pertinent contractual agreements, regulations, and policies and procedures in such areas as construction management practices, building technology and construction practices, resolution of construction programs annual audit findings, client file reviews, scope of work development, dissemination and direction regarding state and local building codes applicable to housing programs, and other program delivery standards as developed.
As a result of this level of monitoring, the Weatherization Program Monitor will generate and provide reports to the appropriate local agency staff and management after each monitoring visit. This individual will also provide and coordinate training and technical assistance as needed and/or requested by local agency weatherization programs. You will also provide and coordinate information and assistance for the Governor's Energy Challenge with local agencies.
You must be able to travel over 65% of the time throughout the State of Georgia.
Qualifications:
Minimum:
- Completion of an Associate degree or technical certificate in a field related to the area of assignment.
- Or 2 years of professional level experience working in a low-income weatherization program, other energy conservation program,
- Or 2 years of professional level experience in the residential construction industry, including construction, repair, rehabilitation, HVAC, and codes;
- Additional desirable experience with or awareness of the following tools and equipment: computerized energy audits, blower doors, digital manometers, pressure pans and/or duct blasters, and carbon monoxide testing equipment.
- Must possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills and computer knowledge/experience with Word, Excel, and Power Point.
Preferred:
Preference will be given to applicants who, in addition to the minimum qualifications, possess one or more of the following:
- Experience with the National Energy Audit Tool (NEAT) computer program
