Description

This position is located in the Dixon Field Office of the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS).

Duties:

  • The incumbent will work under the direct supervision of the Solano RCD Manager. 
  • The position is a full-time, salary exempt position with medical, dental and retirement benefits
  • Coordinate and implement general administrative duties including the following:
  • Organize mail and document all Weed Management Area meetings;
  • Assist in the development and writing of the Long Range and Annual work plan of the Weed Management Area;
  • Attend Weed Management Area meetings.
  • Assist in the development and writing of the Long Range and Annual work plans of the Solano RCD.
  • Update and create new fact sheets and conservation planning materials as needed.
  • Coordinate and implement on the ground projects including stakeholder group management, contracting services, field days and reporting task completions and project deliverables for records and invoices
  • Research and coordinate data collection, mapping and landowner correspondence for Water Quality and Conservation Planning Projects.
  • Coordinate and implement small grant projects as designated by the SRCD District Manager.
  • Assist the Conservation Education Technician in technical areas as needed.
  • Research and design customized plans for individual landowners, tailoring them to meet the needs of each landowner and provide information requested by the landowner.
  • Other Duties as assigned by the District Manager.
  • Salary: $2,300.00-$2,750.00/month
                                 
                                      

Qualifications:

  • Equivalent to a Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university in Agriculture, Biology, or a related field of study.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Windows 98, and Excel are required and Arc View is recommended.
  • Must have a valid drivers license.
  • To perform the assigned duties, the employee will be required to work a mixture of evening and day hours.
  • The regular work time will be 8-5 Monday through Friday with occasional night and weekend obligations.
