Position Overview
JMT is seeking an entry level Water Resources Design Engineer to join the Sparks Water Resources group.
Responsibilities
- The Design Engineer will perform aspects of water resources engineering under the direct supervision of a registered professional engineer.
- Work assignments will focus on drainage and stormwater management analysis and design, hydrologic and hydraulic analysis, erosion and sediment control design, NPDES studies and basic vegetative stabilization measures.
- Knowledge and application of general engineering principles and practices will be used daily.
Qualifications
Required Skills:
- Bachelor of Science in Civil or Environmental Engineering with emphasis in Water Resources.
- 0-4 years of experience in Water Resources Engineering.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to perform field work including lifting 50 lbs.
Job Preferences:
- Successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE/EIT) Exam.
- Hydrologic Modeling experience using TR55 / TR20 and Rational Methodologies
- Hydraulic Modeling experience using HEC-RAS and/or HY-8.
- Microstation and/or AutoCAD drafting experience.
- Experience using ArcGIS.
- Water Resources engineering design experience in Maryland.
- Internship in Water Resources.
- Stormwater Management design experience.
- Erosion and Sediment Control design experience.
- Storm Drain design experience.
