Description
The Mystic River Watershed Association (MyRWA) is looking for a half-time permanent employee to manage the Mystic Monitoring Network (MMN), a volunteer water quality monitoring program.
Responsibilities
- Recruits and trains volunteers for water quality monitoring
- Coordinates sampling events
- Reviews volunteer performance
- Processes laboratory data and analyzes results in regular reports
- Meets with municipal, state, and federal officials to review results, problems, and action plans
- Involved in planning and implementing sampling expansion and future efforts
- Represents staff at and reports to the MyRWA Committee on Water Quality
- Represents the MyRWA at conferences, trainings, and member organization events
- Works closely with the Quality Assurance Manager in developing Standard Operating Procedures and Quality Assurance methods
Required Skills
- Strong analytical skills
- Ability to communicate effectively in writing, including but not limited to technical data reports and watershed publications.
- Ability to work effectively with volunteers and other stakeholders
- Familiarity with water quality standards, policies and sampling procedures
- Ability to work independently
- Proficiency in PC-based computing, including Microsoft Office Software
- Personal transportation is required
Compensation
Mid-$20,000's, full-time equivalent basis
