Description

Project AnimalAid
The 21st century has brought many global issues to the forefront. We realize not only how fragile the Earth’s ecosystems are, but also the role we play in protecting them. Project AnimalAid is a personal response to this realization. After tragedies like the Indonesian Tsunami of 2004 and Hurricane Katrina as well as the horrific slaying of seven endangered Mountain Gorillas in the Democratic Republic of Congo, founder, Candy Brad, DVM, decided to find a way to help the animals of our planet.

Project AnimalAid is a non-profit 501 organization dedicated to improving the health and welfare of wildlife, companion animals and working animals by collecting veterinary and medical equipment, technology and supplies from veterinary and human hospitals, manufacturers and individuals. These items are then distributed to veterinarians working in non-profit or non-governmental organizations worldwide who are also devoted to improving animal health and welfare (called "Recipient Organizations"). PAA receives donations that are difficult for Recipient Organizations to procure due to lack of funding, inaccessibility and/or challenges with receiving items in their home country.

Volunteer With Project AnimalAid

Project AnimalAid relies on volunteers to accomplish our mission. If you live in the Boulder, Colorado area and would like to find out how you can help, please contact us at info@projectanimalaid.org or visit our volunteer opportunities on VolunteerMatch.

Do you live outside of Boulder, but still want to get involved? Volunteers are always needed to help spread the word about our organization! Hold a fundraiser or visit local veterinarians to tell them about the equipment and supply donations accepted by Project AnimalAid.

More About Us

Veterinarians in the United States and other industrialized countries usually have access to state-of-the-art equipment, textbooks and subject matter experts. As new equipment and technologies become available, the replaced item is often put aside or thrown away, even if it still works.

The same cannot be said of many other parts of the globe. Here, there are amazing individuals, both veterinarians and non-veterinarians, who are working to improve animal health. Often, they work with antiquated equipment, or no equipment at all, and minimal supplies. They compete with many other animal-related organizations, all vying for the same donated dollars. All have the same frustrations trying to get supplies shipped to their locations.

Project AnimalAid seeks to solve many of these difficulties. By providing an avenue for individuals in the veterinary or human health fields to donate fully functional equipment and supplies, Project AnimalAid makes it easy for them to help these veterinarians working in hard-to-reach areas. Project AnimalAid keeps valuable resources from clogging our landfills while simultaneously improving animal health and welfare around the globe.

Whether it is a chimpanzee in Uganda, dogs and cats in the United States or livestock in India, Project AnimalAid can help. By working together, we decrease the waste of valuable supplies and increase the quality of care for animals worldwide.

Thank you for visiting our website and helping to unite the global veterinary community - together we can heal the planet one animal at a time!
