Position Overview:

Ketchum West is looking to add a Vice President to our growing team to act as a senior corporate counselor within the sustainability specialty area. The Vice President will provide oversight of sustainability programs for multiple high-profile clients. This individual will serve as a senior counselor to clients on sustainability matters and work with local account teams to build and implement campaigns, ensuring client satisfaction and bringing a value-added approach to all projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Contribute in the areas of thought leadership, visibility, business development, and internal and external networking in the sustainability arena across the agency.
  • Serve as senior contact and counselor for clients, demonstrating creativity and in-depth knowledge of clients' business; develop strategy for implementing successful PR and marketing programs.
  • Exhibit strong communication and presentation skills to effectively articulate ideas and present programs to clients, colleagues and other marketing partners.
  • Take a leadership role in prospecting and new business proposal development and presentations; work with account teams to build incremental business.
  • Troubleshoot clients' problems as they arise; seek senior management and other innovative resources' input whenever appropriate for gold-standard client service.
  • Contribute creativity in developing new approaches to sustainability programming.
  • Motivate team members, providing coaching and mentorship.
  • Encourage teams to take advantage of training and development opportunities.
  • Responsible for managing account financials.
  • Stay on top of sustainability trends in the industry; bring them to the attention of clients and associates, as appropriate.

Qualifications:

Any combination of education and experience providing the required skills and knowledge for successful performance would qualify. Typical qualifications would be equivalent to:

  • At least 8 plus years of agency and/or corporate PR experience with a specific focus on sustainability issues/practices.
  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, English, Marketing or a related field. Master's degree in a communications field desired.
  • Proven abilities in developing thought leadership materials and participating in sustainability conferences, panels, etc. Wide-ranging industry connections in sustainability and PR worlds.
  • Experience with social media and a successful track record of effectively counseling and selling social/digital media concepts to clients.
  • Ability to quickly become knowledgeable of Ketchum's proprietary tools and develop clear understanding how to apply tools and technology to client work.
  • Proven track record in growing business.
  • Strong quantitative and analytical abilities to define measurable objectives, assess campaign metrics and reports.
