Position Overview:
The Vice President of Sales for Renewable Energy (VPSRE) is responsible for identifying, developing, establishing, and achieving the award to SASCO of new opportunities within the renewable energy field that meet SASCO's requirements. The VPSRE shall identify renewable energy project opportunities that involve design, installation, and related services or construction with an emphasis on commercial or utility scale solar and wind technologies. The VPSRE is responsible for bringing valid project opportunities and the appropriate information to SASCO's project groups for review.
The VPSRE is responsible for supporting the sales of any "in-house" renewable energy opportunities that SASCO's project groups become involved with. The VPSRE shall strategically captain the successful sales process and progress of each opportunity that is selected by SASCO's project groups.
Responsibilities:
- Be a leading force and positive influence in SASCO being awarded renewable energy projects.
- Identify, develop and maintain customer relationships with current and prospective customers, which shall include architects, engineers, developers, general contractors, public agencies, private business owners and others.
- Identify future renewable energy projects including location of project, type of project, timing of project, decision makers, and any specific needs of project.
- Lead the process of identifying, developing and the successful award of renewable energy installation opportunities that meet SASCO's standards.
- Responsible for presenting opportunities to SASCO's project groups and ensure the delivery of accurate project information and documents.
- Oversee the tracking of all projects that are designated for bidding or presentation and the updating of project information on an on-going basis.
- Lead the process and ensure that SASCO presentations are "leading edge" of the format and thoroughness as required by the customer and industry.
- Ensure that SASCO's project groups are engaged in the sales, the bidding and/or presentation process, and that strong communication with the internal parties (SASCO) and with external customers is maintained throughout the bid phase of the project.
- Continue to strengthen and improve customer relationships, and track progress on a monthly basis. Utilize SASCO's entertainment resources as appropriate to develop and nurture relationships, resulting in the award of projects to SASCO.
- Attend industry association meetings as a means of networking with the customer base and other industry professionals.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal customers (SASCO).
- Develop a thorough understanding of SASCO's business objectives so that the concept and the advantage of "Why SASCO" can be effectively understood and accepted by external customers.
- Participate in SASCO sales functions.
Qualifications:
- Energetic, effective communicator with excellent interpersonal skills who is able to excel in a sales environment.
- 5+yrs renewable energy industry experience required, with an emphasis in the contracting/design/installation of commercial und utility scale solar/wind technologies preferred.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience required.
- Ability to "rough design" components and the installation requirements of renewable energy projects including commercial und utility scale solar/wind technologies.
- Knowledge and ability to demonstrate to customers; complete cost of renewable energy systems and the return of investments including all utility, government and other rebates, credits, rates and/or tariffs.
- Knowledge and ability to suggest other energy saving/green options on any given projects preferred.
- Knowledge and ability to demonstrate financing packages for commercial solar/wind technology projects to customers.
- Technically advanced and oriented with solid computer skills (i.e.: Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point and Internet).
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Customer service oriented and extremely organized.
- Must have a natural ability to engage in business relationships with individuals and groups, and willingness to improve and utilize his/her talents to build customer relationships for the benefit of SASCO.
- Energetic, take initiative and a self-starter and must possess strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Highly intellectual manner with; a willingness to learn, tenacity, strong organizational skills, excellent work habits and shall be result oriented.
- Ability to listen and understand what the clients needs are, rather than to tell the client.
