Position Overview:
Responsible for the management of the North America corporate finance department in support of MRP's businesses in the USA and Canada. Reporting to the Corporate CFO, serves as a key member of the North America management team providing direct support to the CEO- North America and his staff in the areas of deal assessment, project financing, financial analysis and capital market activity. Serve as the liaison between the North America entities and the Corporate headquarters to assure the accurate and timely flow of communications about on-going financial activities.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary focal point to gather and assess regional wind power transaction information and use the resources, relationships and technigues developed to create strategies to help drive the growth of the MRP North American businesses.
- Lead, in conjunction with corporate headquarters, the commercial negotiation of acquisitions, investments, fundraising activities from a financial perspective in the North American markets.
- Evaluate and present investment papers for board approval including market research, financial structure and modelling.
- Negotiate directly with capital providers and their advisors for investment in MRP projects in North America.
- Manage the day-to-day activities of the Corporate Finance department to include departmental budget, employee evaluation and procedure development.
- Work internally as part of multi-functional teams to assess opportunities in technologies, companies and projects within the North American markets.
- Represent the company at trade shows, conferences and other industry related events. Provide presentations and speeches upon request.
Qualifications:
- 12-15 years total experience in Investment Banking, financial analysis, acquisition and sales transactions, and structured finance with 3-5 years experience in the renewable energy (wind or solar) industry.
- Extensive network of banking relationships with institutions involved in the debt and equity financing of renewable energy projects.
- Demonstrated success at creating and executing innovative deal finance structures.
- Excellent communicator able to prepare written, analytical and graphical materials for presentation to internal and external audiences.
- Outstanding decision-maker able to manage cross functional teams to achieve expected milestones and outcomes.
- Undergraduate degree in Business, Finance or Accounting. MBA from top B-school preferred.
