Position Overview 

Supports the expansion of AXIS's Renewable Energy team in the New York office. Performs a variety of administrative duties for underwriting team, including the processing of new and renewal business, interacting with brokers on policy issuance and data collection, maintaining records and materials, and related work as required. Great opportunity for someone looking to build a foundation in the renewable energy and/or insurance industry. 

Responsibilities 

  • Work with the underwriters to issue policies, process endorsements and perform back-office duties in accordance with group standards 
  • Build and maintain Broker relationships in furtherance of above. 
  • Prepare the renewal for underwriting review and evaluation for quotations and binders 
  • Manage diary system to ensure that all necessary information is received within established timelines 
  • Follow-up of delinquent data 
  • Input policy and underwriting data in appropriate systems 
  • Maintain submission and policy files according to documented standards 
  • Handle special projects and assignment as directed. 
  • Provide good customer service by responding promptly and courteously to all requests for information 
  • Review and e-mail or fax quote and binder letters 
  • Prepare policies for policy issuance 
  • Review policies for accuracy and regulatory standards 

Qualifications  

Required Education, Training & Experience: 

  • Bachelor's degree required. Degree concentration in environmental studies is a plus 
  • 0 - 2 years' work experience 
  • Good mathematical aptitude 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products (particularly, Excel and Word) 
  • Possesses a demonstrated interest in renewable energy
