The American Council On Renewable Energy (ACORE), is a non-profit membership organization dedicated to building a secure and prosperous America with clean, renewable energy. 

ACORE provides a common educational platform for a wide range of interests in the renewable energy community, focusing on technology, finance,olicy and market development. 

We convene thought leadership forums and create energy industry partnerships to communicate the economic, security and environmental benefits of renewable energy. 

Position Overview

ACORE seeks an Associate with knowledge of the transportation sector and renewable energy markets to support the coordination and implementation of ACORE's Transportation Initiative.

Working with the Director of Transportation, specific responsibilities include assisting with member recruitment and engagement, education and outreach efforts, event planning, securing of extramural funding and day-to-day management of the ACORE-NASCAR Green Partnership.

Responsibilities & Principal Duties 

ACORE Transportation Initiative 

  • Support ACORE member recruitment, retention and engagement efforts.
  • Assist with planning and implementation of ACORE's Executive Meetings, Advisory Committee calls and corresponding deliverables. 
  • Develop and communicate educational material on renewable transportation through online, social media and written portals. 
  • Other duties as assigned. 

ACORE-NASCAR Green Partnership 

  • Facilitate the successful delivery of the Science Technology Engineering and Math (STEM) Campaign and the ACORE F3 Fellowship program.
  • Manage the preparation of NASCAR events including logistics and communication. 
  • Aid with the marketing and securing of sponsorship for ACORE's F3 Fellowship program. 
  • Coordinate additional administrative tasks. 

Qualifications & Skills 

  • Bachelor's Degree in Energy, Business, Transportation or an equivalent education/degree.
  • Entry level, 1-2 years of experience in an energy and/or transportation related field desired; graduate work and unpaid internships may meet the experience threshold.
  • Understanding and working knowledge of transportation and renewable energy.
  • Excellent written, spoken and online communication skills.
  • Ability to manage programs including assisting with marketing, project development and program delivery/deliverables. 
  • Proven diplomacy, communication, customer service, analytical, and problem-solving skills. 
  • Ability to take initiative while working collaboratively with internal and external working groups, with emphasis on follow-up and follow-through. 
  • Full MS Office software skill-set and competency.

The scope of ACORE's membership spans all constituencies in the renewable energy sector, including financial institutions, government leaders, educators, end-users, professional service providers and allied non-profit groups.

ACORE accomplishes much of its work by convening the thought leaders in each of these constituencies, publishing collaborative research and facilitating communications among our members, their stakeholders and the media.

ACORE's Leadership Council is a group of high-level ACORE members representing all sectors of the renewable energy industry. Leadership Council members convene regularly to shape ACORE's policy agenda, discuss strategy, and network with fellow members. ACORE member companies designate their top executive for renewable energy as their Leadership Council representative.
