Trainer

Veritable Vegetable is a woman-owned, socially responsible, organic produce company in San Francisco.We have an immediate fulltime opening for a creative, energetic person with expertise in education and training.

Under general supervision of the Training Manager, the Trainer will

• Provide training to staff at Veritable Vegetable Inc., with primary focus on warehouse staff
• Assist in the development of training plans
• Assemble and develop training materials
• Assess knowledge, attitudes and skills of trainees based on specific task performance and interactions with co-workers
• Consult with the Operations Manager and the Warehouse Supervisor to evaluate effectiveness of training
• Interface with Human Resource Manager on overall staff development
• Be able to carry out, at a high level of performance, all tasks required of Warehouse staff

Essential Qualifications

• At least one year's experience in education and/or training
• Excellent verbal and written skills in English
• Demonstrated skills in making presentations to small groups
• Basic understanding of warehouse operations
• Flexibility, ability to work as a member of a team and independently
• Basic capabilities with word processing and simple graphics programs
• Ability to work a swing shift (2 - 11 pm) with the possibility of varying days of work during the week, and some flexibility to work at night and during the daytime on occasion
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and to be on your feet for several hours at a time

Desired Qualifications

• Second language skills (Spanish preferred)

• College degree in education, psychology, sociology, environmental studies, agriculture, health education or other relevant field
