Trainee, Climate Change, Energy

We are CRISP, an international NGO based in Berlin. We develop projects and workshops in civil conflict management in post-war regions. In Germany we work in political education and in the area of ​​citizen participation. In our activities we rely on interactive methods and are specialized in the simulation game method.

Overview

We are now looking for a trainee who will support us in the development of projects and simulation games with focus on CLIMATE CHANGE and ENERGY TRANSITION.

The trainee position is mostly linked to a project in Egypt and Sudan on the subject of “Bottom-Up Youth Climate Governance”. Together with the project coordinator, the trainee goes through all the steps of the project work (application - implementation - evaluation - accounting/ final report).

We are therefore looking for an employee who already has initial theoretical and practical experience, knowledge in the areas of climate governance, climate resilience at a local level and/or the energy transition. At the same time, a lot of motivation should be brought along in order to deepen this further and to realize own ideas. In general, working at CRISP is characterized by working independently and on own responsibility on different topics and in different regions. Willingness to travel during working hours is essential.

Requirements

• University degree related to the job position 
• Language skills: English - fluent, German - fluent
• Experience in project work, ideally in the areas of conflict transformation and/or political education
• First experiences in conducting workshop formats in non-formal education
• High social competence, flexibility and ability to work in a team
• Willingness to travel abroad (frequently)
• Excellent skills in the areas of coordination and communication
• Very good knowledge in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and experience in dealing with content management systems

Additional Qualifications:

• Experience with planning of simulations and role-playing games and/or other methods from the field of non-formal education
• Further foreign language skills, especially Arabic, Russian and Ukrainian
• Experience of working in North Africa and/or Southeast and Eastern Europe regions
