Description

The Washington, DC office of the Rails-to-Trails Conservancy (RTC) seeks a Trails Information Coordinator to assist with database management and trail planning.

Duties include collection and maintenance of information on trails, contacts, and railroad abandonments, coordination with IT staff and consultants, providing trail building assistance through e-communications, trainings, and research, and assistance with GIS mapping,

The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years experience, a college degree in a related field, excellent database management skills (including database reporting and SQL), an interest in non-motorized transportation planning and implementation, strong GIS mapping skills, and. excellent written and oral skills.

Rails-to-Trails Conservancy is a national nonprofit organization dedicated to connecting people and communities by creating a nationwide network of public trails, from former rail lines and connecting corridors.
