Position Overview

Tetra Tech is seeking an experienced leader to serve as our Texas Environmental Lead to support the current workload and subsequent growth and expansion of our consulting practice in the Texas/Oklahoma/Louisiana region.

  • Our Texas Environmental Lead will lead, strengthen and further develop our environmental and engineering consulting practice in the Texas/Oklahoma/Louisiana region.

Responsibilities

Our Texas Environmental Lead will collaborate with Program and Operations Leads to manage multidisciplinary groups with the execution of onshore and offshore renewable development, natural gas infrastructure development and upgrades to existing electric transmission systems/new infrastructures.

Staff Management:

  • Manage multidisciplinary technical resources within the Texas/Oklahoma region.
  • Support Program and Operations Leads with recruiting efforts in the Texas/Oklahoma region.
  • Support Operations Leads with compliance with Tetra Tech processes related to business development, project management, health and safety, quality and project delivery.
  • Support Operations Leads with staff retention by fostering a work environment that is collaborative, values diversity, equity and inclusion which will sustain a challenging and attractive work environment.
  • Support Operations Leads in supporting programs such as DE&I and mentoring.

Strategy and Business Development:

  • Lead and support strategic pursuits, review and respond to RFI’s, RFP’s and RFQ’s.
  • Lead and support proposal and cost development efforts.
  • Support Energy Program Leads with market research and analysis and collaborate with Client Managers, Energy Program Leads, Project Managers and Operations Leads to further establish our Texas/Oklahoma consulting practice.
  • Lead and support strategic growth initiatives to expand Tetra Tech’s environmental and engineering services as well as our client and operational footprint in the Texas/Oklahoma region.

Project Management & Execution:

  • Serve as Project Manager in the development and execution of energy program infrastructure projects.
  • Manage multi-disciplinary teams to complete projects on time and on budget.

Qualifications

  • Possess a B.S. or M.S. in a related field (i.e., engineering, science, planning, environmental studies, or related discipline).
  • Exhibit 10+ years of professional experience. Prior experience should include electric transmission, power generation and/or natural gas transmission siting and permitting experience, with prior project management of fossil-fuel and renewable energy infrastructures facility permitting projects.
  • Demonstrated experience in working in the renewable sectors, i.e., utility scale solar, distributed solar, on/offshore wind, energy storage, renewable natural gas, battery storage, etc.
  • Demonstrated teamwork and collaboration skills, including ability to mentor staff and successfully manage and coordinate projects requiring multidisciplinary services.
  • Strong business acumen with an aptitude for client satisfaction and team retention.
  • Collaborative, drives consensus, effective communication skills.
  • Must have a valid driver license and be able to pass the company DMV check to be a Tetra Tech-qualified driver of corporate/rental vehicles.
  • A Pre-employment drug screen in compliance with state regulations is required.

Compensation:

  • Salary commensurate with experience.
  • Salary Range: $120,000yr. - $160,000 yr.
