Description

Do you want to serve your community while protecting the environment and getting professional experience with a land conservation nonprofit?

TerraCorps has more than 30 AmeriCorps service member positions in Massachusetts and Rhode Island.

Whether you are passionate about land stewardship, conservation, or sustainable agriculture, TerraCorps is here to help you serve local communities and build professional skills through transformative experiences.

TerraCorps is an AmeriCorps affiliated nonprofit preparing and mobilizing the next generation of emerging leaders committed to making a difference at the community level. We do this by partnering with a network of nonprofits in Massachusetts and Rhode Island focused on community needs related to local land conservation and sustainable farming. These partners act as service sites for a new cohort of AmeriCorps service members annually. Service members are paired with a site supervisor who provides guidance and mentorship while they learn to manage community programs and projects over a 10-month, 1700-hour service term.

Members serve in one of five coordinator roles focused on:

  • Land Conservation
  • Land Stewardship
  • Sustainable Agriculture
  • Community Engagement
  • Youth Education

TerraCorps members serve in full-time (40 hour/week), 10-month positions from September 22nd, 2025- July 31st, 2026, and can receive the following benefits:

  • Stipend of $27,666 distributed over the course of the term
  • Free access to healthcare coverage
  • Childcare coverage if eligible
  • Free mental health services through the Member Assistance Program
  • Money for college ($7,395), through the Segal Education Award upon completion of the program
  • Student loan forbearance if the member qualifies
  • Professional mentoring and coaching
  • Professional development trainings and workshops
  • Additional AmeriCorps benefits.
