Technology Solutions Development Engineer

eSolar is a developer and provider of key enabling technology for large utility-scale solar thermal power plants. The unique approach is to use small, modular solar tracking heliostats (mirrors) in solar plants for electricity production, industrial heat and other uses. Responsibilities: 

Key Position Accountabilities:

• Technical oversight to the outsourced IT support group
• Server as an administrator for key engineering enterprise applications
• Diagnose and resolve technical issues expeditiously
• Provide desktop and server support
• Participate in planning and execution of projects to build a World Class IT infrastructure at eSolar
• Ensure all logs for equipment and software are maintained
• IT related cost analysis and creating purchase requisitions for IT hardware/software
• Set up new users (hardware/account) and disabling expired accounts in accordance w/ HR requirements
• Provide assistance and support to colleagues in IT-related matters
• Ensure that a high level of customer service and support is provided to all internal and external customers
• Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned by the IT Manager
• This position is not a help desk position, but one that will require cross discipline engineering work to design and implement solutions bridging the gap between the IT and Engineering departments 

Qualifications: 

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree major in computer science, information systems or equivalent
• Enthusiastic and capable learner of new technology
• Very strong basic computer skills in MS Windows and MS Office programs
• Programming background in a scripting language (e.g., Python, Groovy, JS) Strong project management skills
• Self starter with strong leadership capabilities and demonstrated problem solving ability
• Excellent writt"Apply Here!" en, verbal communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong collaborations skills, team player
• Must be self-motivated and be capable of handling multiple tasks and projects simultaneously

Additional Useful Skills: 

• Experience with Agile from Oracle or similar PLM systems, Microsoft SharePoint
• Experience with highly virtualized environments (VMWare or Hyper-V)
• Broad IT experience in network configuration and security, data storage and backup, PABX/VoIP systems
• Computer certifications, such as a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer certification, ITIL certification
