Our Transportation Initiatives Division takes a holistic approach to helping stakeholders understand, plan for and implement emerging transportation programs. We provide a range of services that take into account the full scope and long-term implications of the adoption of electrified transportation and the supporting infrastructure, including planning and consulting, outreach and training, and technology testing and deployment.
Examples of key stakeholders include electric utilities, local/state/federal governments, federal agencies (DOE, DOD, DOT, Clean Cities), vehicle and infrastructure manufacturers, the emerging workforce and the general public.

Responsibilities:
This position is responsible for selling products and services of our Transportation Initiatives Division to new and existing clients. Our sales team works closely with our project managers and clients to:
- Determine needs and potential applications for our technical expertise
- Develop and execute strategic sales and marketing plans to meet revenue and profitability goals
- Apply market research data to identify gaps/opportunities and help develop new products and services
- Prepare technical proposals including scope and price
- Manage major accounts
- Develop and deliver presentations both internally and externally on a variety of technical subjects
- Develop and execute program plans for key markets and develop/grow critical relationships, revenue and impact.
- Employ customer relationship management systems and procedures to document and maintain information on clients and activities.
- Develop strategies for initiating contact and building interest, using existing relationships, conducting research, etc.
- Develop strategic alliances with other individuals and organizations to build critical relationships.
- Facilitate planning and tracking of new projects and activities.
- Keep the corporation informed as to the strategic plans and directions of our clients and the market
- Develop on-going reporting mechanisms to keep the management team apprised of progress toward revenue and other business goals.
- Attend regular team meetings and participate in annual planning for corporate direction, growth and improvement and staff development.
- Develop budgets and business plans for sales, marketing and product development in conjunction with the corporate budgeting process.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Qualifications include a BS Degree, preferably in a technical discipline; Masters in Business Administration, Public Administration or Environmental Management preferred.
- Must have a minimum of 7 years experience in technical sales that includes selling consulting, training and/or testing services.
- Experience in transportation, smart grid, energy and/or sustainability preferred.
- Proven self-starter with exceptional verbal and written communications skills required.
- Demonstrated experience giving professional trainings and presentations required.
- The ideal candidate for this role will have a dynamic and creative approach to the sales process, as well as a willingness to wear a variety of hats.
- Preference will be given to individuals who have relevant experience working with government agencies (DOE, DOD, DOT, Clean Cites, Local and Regional Governments, etc), electric utilities or automotive and infrastructure manufacturers.
- Position may require 20% - 40% travel.
