Description

We are a renewable energy company focused on the development and operation of wind, hydro, and solar energy plants.  We have developed a number of wind farms in Europe and have recently expanded into the North American wind market and are developing over 1000 MW of wind power in the United States and Canada.

Position Overview:

Reporting to the Director of Asset Management, NaturEner seeks System Operators to observe, monitor, report, and manage real-time operations from the NaturEner Operations Center.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the company's representative for all operational projects from 24/7 real-time desk.
  • Ensure the operating projects and balancing authority remain compliant with NERC and WECC reliability standards
  • Ensure the operating projects fulfill commercial obligations.
  • Liaison between regulatory and commercial partners to ensure proper balance and optimization of assets given constraints.
  • Schedule all energy as appropriate with counterparties
  • Manage and purchase reserve positions and ancillary commercial products through bi-lateral contracts or system interfaces/markets
  • Facilitate transmission sales and purchases through OASIS
  • Support the operations and maintenance activities by actively managing plant availability and reliability.
  • Ensure safety procedures are followed and work site is safe for all employees and subcontractors.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in economics, business, finance, engineering or other relevant degree
  • 2 or more years of power experience, or equivalent experience with real-time commercial or operating experience preferred, but not required
  • Solid analytical skills and excellent computer capabilities.
  • Strong business acumen and attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with energy markets (WECC preferred), operations and maintenance, or wind forecasting and scheduling, a plus!
  • Knowledge of power plant generation and power transmission. Power scheduling experience strongly desired.

  • Forecasting and scheduling experience
  • 24-hour operations and flexible work scheduling
