Continental Wind Power manufactures a new generation of modern, midsize wind turbines which are designed to be exceptionally reliable and are much more practical economical to install for large commercial and institutional power users. The company has assembled an impressive team of engineers, project developers, and consultants and has several wind projects in development in California. We have expertise in turbine design, electrical engineering, energy policy, and financing.

Position Overview:
We are looking for an experienced inter-disciplinary wind turbine engineer who can manage complexity, crossing the boundaries between mechanical, electrical and controls engineering to lead our system design and integration efforts. The ideal candidate can see the technological big picture, identifying opportunities for improvement as well as potential issues before they arise.
Responsibilities:
System design:
- Holistic understanding of major turbine components and their interactions: actuators, aerodynamics, power controls, transmissions
- Functional block diagrams & specifications
- System and process modeling and analysis
- Power and efficiency analysis
- Economic modeling: TCO, ROI, Life Cycle
- Design review
Integration & test planning:
- Work with team to optimize integration logistics
- Develop test plan to identify issues early and quickly
- Assure proper function of interfaces between components
Consultant management:
- Engage and manage specialized consultants as needed to complement core team
Component selection:
- Survey market
- Identify near-match off-the-shelf components
- Evaluate vendors

Must have legal authorization to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer.
