Position Overview:
Gensler is seeking an individual with sustainable design expertise and an advanced level of LEED project experience to work with our clients and their design teams to facilitate the development and analysis of sustainable design strategies and LEED certification. As a sustainable design specialist at Gensler, you will join a highly creative, collaborative team dedicated to innovative problem-solving and design excellence.
The primary focus of this role is technical leadership and mentorship across all aspects of sustainable design and LEED project delivery. This individual will be responsible for supporting Gensler design teams delivering LEED projects, developing project management tools, providing technical assistance on LEED credit documentation and coordinating final certification issues. The individual will work in collaboration with an existing group of Sustainable Design leaders across the firm and locally with Gensler's LA Sustainability Committee.
Responsibilities:
- Direct and Manage the LEED Project Portfolio for the Southwest Region in collaboration with design teams
- Provide and Coordinate Technical Support and Staffing for LEED Projects
- Communicate with USGBC and GBCI for LEED Project and LEED CMP Inquiries
- Lead Business Development for Sustainable Design and LEED Consulting Opportunities
- Provide Thought Leadership in Sustainable Design (externally and internally)
Qualifications:
- Strong leadership, communication and relationship management skills
- LEED Accreditation with at least one Specialty, applicant must demonstrate a primary role on at least 5 LEED projects in the previous 2 years, and no less than one project as the primary LEED Project Administrator.
- Strong knowledge of building systems, project management and consultant coordination (current expertise or interest/aptitude to build expertise quickly)
- Strong writing, speaking, organizational skills, and technical presentation ability
- Proficient user of LEED Online, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and InDesign.
- Bachelor or Master degree in a field of study related to Architecture or Interior Design
- Strong knowledge of LEED and project management, gained through directly relevant project experience and education
